5. Courtney Lee, Charlotte Hornets

Position: Guard/Forward

Age: 30

Slash Line: .461/.382/.838

Season Averages: 29.3 MPG, 9.9 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 1.6 APG, 1.1 SPG, 1.0 3PM

If only one word describes Courtney Lee, it’s, “Solid.” He doesn’t do anything that will jump off of the page, but the 30-year-old can space the floor, defend both the 2 and the 3, and help a team win games.

Lee’s age could prove to be a concern for the Knicks, but with the right point guard alongside him, he can help New York round out a postseason-caliber starting lineup.

Lee helped the Orlando Magic reach the NBA Finals in 2009. He’s since made three consecutive postseason appearances between 2013 and 2015, and is on pace to make it four in a row as he plays a vital role along the Charlotte Hornets’ perimeter in 2016.

In his most recent postseason appearance, 2015, Lee averaged 13.3 points on a slash line of .550/.467/.957 in 11 games played.

Lee’s ability to space the floor and defend his position make him the ideal fit in New York’s Triangle Offense. One could argue that he’s not quite as good of a player as Arron Afflalo, who can walk in free agency, but Lee can be had for less, and has the track record of starting on postseason teams.

If the Knicks can find the right point guard, Lee can be the perfect complement at the 2.
