There aren’t many players more reliable than Portland Trail Blazers wing Gerald Henderson. He’s never made the leap to stardom, but Henderson has comfortably remaining in the starting-caliber tier of NBA players over the past five seasons.

On a Trail Blazers team that has a rising star at shooting guard in C.J. McCollum, Henderson is likely to be an available option at the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline.

Now 28, the 6’5″ shooting guard has averaged at least 14.0 points per game in three different seasons. He has a career field goal percentage above 44.0 percent, shoots just under 80 percent from the free throw line after 436 completed games, and is converting a career-best 36.5 percent of his 3-point field goals in 2015-16.

Henderson has a tendency to settle for long 2-point field goals, but as an accurate midrange shooter, he’d fit well in the Triangle Offense.

Henderson is a team player and a solid defender who could help stabilize the Knicks’ second unit. With Jerian Grant struggling at point guard, Henderson could pair with Langston Galloway to create a more consistent push off the bench.

Considering Damian Lillard and Tim Frazier, who plays 7.8 minutes per game, are the only other point guards on Portland’s roster, the Trail Blazers may be receptive to a Jose Calderon for Henderson swap.
