A number of stars are available on the trade market. The question is, who are they and should the New York Knicks pursue them at and leading up to the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline?

The New York Knicks are in the midst of a massive turnover. Just 136 games into his tenure as head coach, Derek Fisher was relieved of his duties amidst troubles that existed both on and off of the court.

New York has turned to Kurt Rambis as the interim coach as Phil Jackson figures out what to do with a team that’s lost 10 of its past 11 games.

At 23-32, the Knicks are a manageable 5.0 games back of the No. 8 seed with 27 outings remaining on the schedule. While the deficit is far from impossible to make up, there’s no time to waste and no room for complacency if New York is hoping to make the playoffs.

With no draft pick in either round of the 2016 NBA Draft, and cap space that’s set to be limited by a 34-year-old Jose Calderon‘s contract, making the postseason is the only realistic goal in 2015-16.

New York already has a borderline superstar on the roster in Carmelo Anthony, and it’s grooming another in power forward Kristaps Porzingis. In order to properly develop Porzingis, appease Anthony, and appeal to potential free agents, it must let that duo prove its worth in the playoffs.

The question is, which stars are available for the postseason-hungry Knicks to consider?
