Tim Duncan

There’s a crowd in favor of Karl Malone, but generally speaking, Tim Duncan is regarded as the greatest power forward of all-time. A five-time NBA champion with two regular season MVP awards and three Finals MVP honors, Duncan has an extraordinary resume.

Thus, it speaks volumes about a player when Duncan is in their corner.

Duncan’s San Antonio Spurs have played Kristaps Porzingis and the New York Knicks twice already. In those two games, Porzingis showed out for his legendary peer, recording 13 points and 14 rebounds on November 2, and 28 points and 11 rebounds on January 8.

According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, Duncan didn’t need a second showing to see how special Porzingis can be.

"“He was impressive,” Tim Duncan said. “He is a young guy, but his skill set is there.”"

Brief, but big.

Porzingis didn’t just post 13 points and 14 rebounds against Duncan and the Spurs. In just 24 minutes, he pulled down eight offensive boards, and had three steals, two blocks, a 3-point field goal, and a vicious poster dunk over LaMarcus Aldridge.

That will be on Porzingis’ career highlight reel when it’s all said and done.
