2. Carmelo Anthony
Watching Carmelo Anthony return from offseason knee surgery has been an overwhelming process. There have been just as many moments of frustration and despair as there have been times of unfiltered bliss.
Here’s the thing: there are only so many teams with a legitimate franchise player.
Anthony may not have a championship ring—yet—but he’s one of the greatest scorers in NBA history. Only so many players have earned that distinction, and for that reason, he’s a gift to the Knicks.
In 2015-16, Anthony has elevated his value to new heights.
Anthony has embraced the role of a mentor to rookie Kristaps Porzingis with open arms. He’s played selflessly on the court, has been a leader in the locker room, and has taken the rookie big man under his wing.
It hasn’t been the smoothest of seasons, but New York would be significantly worse off without Anthony.
