4. The Second Unit
What in the world has happened to the New York Knicks’ second unit? Previously an unstoppable strength, New York has begun to rue the minutes during which the reserves take the court.
That needs to change. Right now.
The good news is that, during New York’s most recent outing, the second unit appeared up to task. It scored 46 points, receiving at least eight from four different players.
That type of effort may be enough for the Knicks to defeat the Houston Rockets.
Carmelo Anthony and company must shine in the starting lineup, but the bench needs to produce. There’s no rational way around how inconsistent it’s been in recent weeks, and that’s hurt the team’s overall quality.
If Langston Galloway, Jerian Grant, Kevin Seraphin and the rest of New York’s bench mob can thrive, the Knicks can win.
