3. Get to the Line

If there’s one thing that the New York Knicks have consistently struggled with offensively, it’s attacking the basket. Too often do they pull up for jump shots and display hesitancy in working the ball into the paint.

That can’t continue against the Houston Rockets.

When it comes to attacking the rim, Houston does so as well as any team in the NBA. They consistently get to the free throw line and finish in the paint.

New York doesn’t do either of those things very well.

According to NBA.com, New York is dead last in points scored in the paint per game. It’s also No. 21 in free throw attempts per contest and No. 26 in field goal percentage.

New York’s defense has been superb, but it needs to attack the basket if it’s going to right the offensive wrongs.
