3. Force Turnovers

Through three games, the New York Knicks have done an excellent job of turning defense into offense. Not only has Derek Fisher instilled an aggressiveness in his players, but the transition attack has thrived.

Against the San Antonio Spurs, New York must cautiously play the passing lanes and still manage to force turnovers.

That’s a tedious task, but it’s the nature of playing the Spurs. They’re the masters of the extra pass, thus knowing exactly how to run defenders in circles and create open looks at the basket.

The question is, can New York maintain its current level of defensive play?

According to NBA.com, New York is No. 6 in points off of turnovers in 2015-16. It’s a small sample size, but the second unit is flush with quick athletes who can turn steals into points.

If the Knicks can force turnovers, they can win.
