Minutes Played: 18

+/-: -18

Stat Line: 2 PTS, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 0/5 FG, 0/2 3PT, 2/2 FT

It’s very hard to give a failing grade to someone in an NBA game. The reality is, Jose Calderon failed to provide the necessary contributions during his 18 minutes on the court against the Atlanta Hawks.

I’m still in his corner as a potentially solid contributor, but this was a horrendous showing.

In 18 minutes, Calderon accumulated a +/- of minus-18—a very telling sign. He was 0-for-5 from the field, missed both of his 3-point field goal attempts and distributed just one assist.

Most importantly, he let Jeff Teague drive and score at virtual will.

It wasn’t a pretty game on either end for Calderon, whose only points were scored early in the first quarter at the free throw line. He’s now 1-of-10 on field goal attempts through two games played.

Calderon may still have value, but he’s been dreadful thus far.
