3-Point Field Goals Made: Arron Afflalo

Arron Afflalo, Carmelo Anthony and Jose Calderon will be in the running for this distinction. All three players should convert at least 100 3-point field goals, with Kristaps Porzingis boasting the potential to flirt with 50-plus.

Afflalo, Anthony and Calderon are all lights-out shooters, but neither is guaranteed to make more than the other.

Anthony should attack the basket more than ever before in the Triangle Offense. That includes going to the post, finishing at the rim and pulling up from mid-range, where he’s absolutely lethal.

Furthermore, ‘Melo made over 150 3-point field goals in 2012-13 and 2013-14, but failed to crack 100 in any other season. Afflalo made 128 in 2012-13 and Calderon sank an impressive 191 in 2013-14, but neither have another season above 100 to their respective names.

All three will compete for the crown as New York’s 3-point king, but this is a major aspect of what Afflalo’s making $8 million for. He gets the optimistic vote.
