Steals Per Game: Langston Galloway

The New York Knicks have a small group of solid perimeter defenders, including Arron Afflalo and Jerian Grant. Neither is a quintessential ball-hawk, however, and that rings true for a vast majority of the roster.

After coming up with 1.2 steals per game as a rookie, Langston Galloway is on pace to be the one to stand out.

Galloway has been lost in the point guard frenzy, but he should see a significant number of minutes in 2015-16. Afflalo and Grant are solid, but Galloway is, arguably, the best perimeter defender on the roster.

Per NBA.com, opponents shot just 39.7 percent from the field when Galloway was the primary defender in 2014-15. That’s a testament to his work ethic, as New York had nothing to play for.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Kristaps Porzingis could surprise people in this category, but it’s Galloway who should shine in the passing lanes in 2015-16.
