Thanasis Antetokounmpo

Thanasis Antetokounmpo is the single most intriguing player on the New York Knicks’ training camp roster. He passed over the opportunity to make significantly more money overseas to remain with the Westchester Knicks in 2014-15, which is reason enough to be intrigued.

It certainly doesn’t hurt that he’s a freakish athlete with a passion for the game, as well as the team.

That’s the exact mentality that the Knicks need Antetokounmpo to possess.

There’s a legitimate possibility that Antetokounmpo will emerge as the team’s featured perimeter defender. Langston Galloway is very strong in on-ball defense and Arron Afflalo has a solid reputation, but neither can be classified as lockdown defenders.

Antetokounmpo potentially could with the added benefit of offensive upside.

Dear Phil Jackson,

Keep Antetokounmpo around for the long haul.

Please and thank you.
