With a healthy Carmelo Anthony returning and the team’s roster overhauled, it is a given that the Knicks are going to be better than the Philadelphia 76er.

The Knicks will be better just based on the simple fact that New York will actually be trying next season. It was abundantly clear that the Knicks were tanking for the number one overall pick…sending out a roster full of D-League players last season… Yes, New York discovered Langston Galloway this way but let’s not kid ourselves…if the Knicks wanted to have actual NBA talent last season, other players could have been signed/acquired to take the court.

The Sixers of course will continue to be in their “process” of rebuilding, so they will still be in tank-mode and not exactly trying to compete. Then there is also the sad news their first overall pick from 2014, Joel Embiid breaking his foot again.

However, Philadelphia was able to draft Jahlil Okafor before the Knicks could, but that was essentially the only bright spot of the Sixers’ off-season…unless you count acquiring  Carl Landry, Nik Stauskas, and whatever is left of Gerald Wallace‘s corpse as a win… The Knicks will at the very least, be better than the Sixers next season.
