Kevin Seraphin: Raw Physicality

Kevin Seraphin is one of the most intriguing players the New York Knicks have acquired thus far. He’s not as safe a signing as Robin Lopez, nor does he have the upside of draft pick Kristaps Porzingis.

What Seraphin brings to the table, however, is raw physicality and the potential to be a high-caliber contributor on both ends of the floor.

Seraphin is a solid player on both offense and defense. He doesn’t perform at an elite level, but he’s strong in virtually every phase of the game.

For as intriguing a skill set as Seraphin may have, he made one thing clear during an interview with Jonah Ballow of Knicks.com: his physicality is the key to his game.

That’s what every team—especially New York—needs.

Porzingis is a finesse player who’s at his best when his skills are being put to use. Lopez can get his hands dirty, but he’s more of a skilled energy player than an enforcer.

If Seraphin is utilized properly, he could set the tone for New York’s interior defense and thrive in the Triangle Offense.
