The New York Knicks with the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft selected Kristaps Porzingis…
Personally I was really hoping for Emmanuel Mudiay and it is pretty devastating with Mudiay still on the board that New York did not go ahead and select him. I was not alone in this feeling as Twitter blew up after Porzingis was selected.
Side Note: I basically was forced to experience the draft through Twitter because of unforeseen events had me leaving work essentially when the draft was under way, so I just kept frantically scrolling down on my phone to refresh Twitter as I headed home on the train. It was pretty amusing to see Knicks’ fans reactions.
I was literally just getting into my train as I saw this tweet and got super bummed.
The New York Knicks will select Kristaps Porzingis with the No. 4 pick in the NBA Draft, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

When my service resumed on my phone, I saw all these wonderful reactions.

Although what was interesting was most media analyst was trying to put a positive spin on the pick. Hopefully all this optimism is deserved, we shall see.
The guy is a good player. He's 19. Knick fans need to chill out.

Lot of executives believe Kristaps Porzingis will eventually be the best player in this draft. I met him last month. Great kid, very focused

Phil said he expected fans to boo the pick, but that Knicks loved Porzingis's athleticism and skill set; particularly for today's NBA.
— Chris Herring (@Herring_NBA) June 26, 2015
But for all the talk about Phil being stuck in the Stone Age, Porzingis is a pick/player for the modern NBA
— Michael Smith (@michaelsmith) June 26, 2015
I'll say this - I only know what I see on the workout tapes, but Porzingis is really athletic. Both hands, moves well, and really long.
— Steve Popper (@StevePopper) June 26, 2015
If Phil took the best available - no matter the wait - he did the right thing for the franchise (and for future GM Isiah Thomas).

I actually like Porzingis, but still think this is hilarious

At some point I figured hey Porzingis is a Knick now, might as well follow him on Twitter @kporzee. I became Porzingis’ 13,684 follower. Yay 🙂
It was so nice to see him post pictures of him and his family on Twitter. Awwwww
