The depth in 2016 is remarkable, and that starts at the top. Not only are there superstars, but there are high and star-caliber players with the potential to transform the New York Knicks.
That possibility exists with more than one option.
The most intriguing potential targets are point guard Mike Conley and centers Al Horford and Joakim Noah. Noah won Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, Horford is a three-time All-Star and Conley is widely regarded as one of the most underrated players in the league.

All three would help the Knicks in the short and long-term, with Horford and Conley serving as the perfect Triangle Offense fits.
Other targets include Portland Trail Blazers wing Nicolas Batum and Miami Heat big man Hassan Whiteside. Their star-caliber play could be easily debated, but each bring intriguing traits to the table.
Batum is a well-rounded offensive player with elite on-ball defense, while Whiteside showed flashes of being a dominant defensive presence in 2014-15. Both have flaws, but the upside talk still remains.
Come 2016, they could be included in this conversation.
