Memphis Grizzlies
The second seeded Memphis Grizzlies might be the perfect fit to acquire a player of Jose Calderon’s talent. The Grizzlies are seemingly already all-in this season, trading for Jeff Green in early January, but more importantly can compensate for Calderon’s lack of defense. Memphis allows the least amount of points scored by an opponent, at 96.1 points per game. Currently Beno Udrih plays 18.8 minutes as the reserve point guard, Calderon would be a significant upgrade to help space the floor for Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. Udrih is shooting 23% from beyond the arc this season, Calderon is nearly 20 percentage points more accurate, and it would be a lateral move defensively with the Memphis’ frontline intimidating any penetrators.
