All quiet on big names (9:50 EST)

I hope we have more action than we did last year when J.J. Redick was the biggest name dealt.

That being said, there doesn’t seem to be much talk on names like Rajon Rondo, Kevin Love and other big names early.

I expect to see a good bit of deals, but I don’t expect any All-Star players to be on the move.

Many expect the Philadelphia 76ers  to be very busy today as they are trying to move Spencer Hawes, Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young.

The Cavs appear to seriously be eyeing Hawes.

Philadelphia has been demanding a first-round pick in any deal for their three stars and the Cavs are a team that could likely give the Sixers what they want as have their own 2014 first-rounder, and a pair of extra first round picks that could come their way for 2015.

Wizards Still Looking for Backup PG (9:30 am EST)

The Washington Wizards are still in the market for a backup point guard with their top two targets still being the Knicks’ Beno Udrih and the Nuggets’ Andre Miller.

They have offered Eric Maynor, Chris Singleton and Trevor Booker, among others  according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders.

It appears that Miller is their top choice but they would be happy with Udrih as they offered him the identical contract the Knicks did in the offseason.

The Wolves and Wizards are the favorites to land Miller, though there’s nothing close yet, tweets Sam Amick of USA Today
