The NY Knicks have a long road ahead to close out the regular season and make the playoffs. After some disappointing losses, the team bounced back with a big overtime win against The Memphis Grizzlies. In terms of roster moves, the team has had to confront some lineup changes due to injuries and inconsistent play.

The NY Knicks signed two big men to 2-day contracts: John Henson and Norvel Pelle. At the end of the day, both players are battling for a limited role that will primarily be an insurance policy for The Knicks’ thin frontcourt. There’s no need to keep both players as they play the same position, meaning The Knicks will have an open roster spot.

You’d figure that roster spot will go to either some more wing depth or an additional backcourt player. Again, we’re talking about the 11th/12th man here, so whoever The Knicks choose to sign will be there for additional depth. Unfortunately, most of the buyout market disappointed, and there aren’t many players left.

NY Knicks: What about Lance Stephenson?

With the buyout market closed, The NY Knicks will have to turn to some other options. Brooklyn native Lance Stephenson has reportedly been eyeing a return to the NBA. Miami Herald reporter Barry Jackson recently said The Miami Heat were monitoring Stephenson as an option to fill out their roster. Stephenson could be an ideal target to finish the season with The Knicks, so let’s look at where the versatile veteran has been.
