With the 2016-17 NBA regular season behind us, we take a look at how New York Knicks phenom Kristaps Porzingis is developing.

The New York Knicks are building the future of the organization around power forward Kristaps Porzingis. That’s a polarizing proposition due to the limited history of European players achieving championship-level success as a true No. 1 star in the NBA.

True as that may be, after two seasons with the Knicks, Porzingis has proven to be unlike any player the NBA has ever seen before.

The 7’3″ anomaly continues to defy expectations and perform at levels that no one before him has been able to. Whether he’s setting franchise or NBA records, Porzingis has been quite the success story early in his career.

That much is proven by the fact that Porzingis has won over legions of one of the most unimpressed fan bases in the world of professional sports.

In some regards, Porzingis looked the part of a future superstar during the 2016-17 regular season. In others, he struggled or regressed in ways that have some Knicks fans questioning whether or not he can be a true No. 1.

The question is: how far has he come in his development and what’s left for Kristaps Porzingis to improve upon after two NBA seasons?
