Kristaps Porzingis is the future of the New York Knicks, but which position should he be playing? There are pros and cons of choosing center.

Since being drafted at No. 4 overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, Kristaps Porzingis has become an irresistibly intriguing player. In less than two completed seasons, he’s already become one of the most versatile and dynamic players in New York Knicks history.

Following a successful change of position, it’s time for Porzingis’ temporary tenure at center to become a more permanent transition.

Playing the matchups makes sense for any NBA team, which opens the door for Willy Hernangomez to continue spotting starts at center. In the contemporary NBA, however, Porzingis is best fit to start at center more often than he does at power forward.

Porzingis has proven to be effective at both positions, but a move to center would benefit both he and the team.

This has been hypothesized for quite some time, but it’s only recently that New York has set the wheels in motion. With Porzingis now having a stronger sample size of games behind him, it’s time to embrace the versatility.

The question is: what would the pros and cons be of the New York Knicks starting Kristaps Porzingis at center?
