The New York Knicks are facing adversity at the point guard position. Is it time for the Knicks to call Chasson Randle up from the NBA D-League?

The New York Knicks have gotten off to a hotter start than most expected them to. With 10 new players and a new head coach, the Knicks were in line for a disastrous start to the 2016-17 NBA regular season.

Unfortunately, the loss of starting point guard Derrick Rose has beckoned a critical question: is it time for Chasson Randle to be called up to the main roster?

New York is currently 14-11 overall, 9-4 at home, and 5-7 away from Madison Square Garden. It’s 6-2 over the past eight games, but it’s also 2-2 over the past four outings with two heartbreaking losses.

That includes a 126-94 blowout loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden and a 113-111 loss to the Phoenix Suns on the road.

One of the shared issues in both of those games was the erratic nature of the Knicks’ play at point guard. Injuries and a lack of depth at the position have combined to create this list of flaws—flaws that can be corrected.

The question is: is is time for the Knicks to call Randle up from the NBA D-League and set him loose on the main roster.
