The New York Knicks have fired head coach Derek Fisher. Who should replace him?

The NBA experienced its first major February shakeup when Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reported that the New York Knicks had fired head coach Derek Fisher. It was called for by angry fans, but the general belief was that Phil Jackson would stick with his former player.

Rather than allowing the Knicks’ season to continue spiraling out of control, Jackson pulled the plug on Fisher’s tenure as head coach.

The Knicks are stuck in a precarious position due to the fact that the 2015-16 NBA regular season is more than halfway complete. Their options are limited, as a vast majority of the most ideal options are currently employed.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Knicks are considering a number of blasts from Jackson’s past as candidates.

In order to properly execute a coaching search for Fisher’s replacement, Jackson and the Knicks need time—something they lack at 23-31.

There’s no telling if either Brian Shaw or Luke Walton will be hired, nor is there a guarantee that Kurt Rambis won’t excel. Anything is possible, and in New York, that rings as true as it does in any city in the world.

The question is, who should the Knicks hire as the next head coach?
