It’s not often that the New York Knicks and Orlando Magic play an important game, but the Knicks need a win on Thursday night after dropping two straight games, including last night’s matchup in Miami.

New York is a slight favorite in this game, and it’s going to be all hands on deck to get the win over Orlando tonight.

That brings me to the prop market, where I think there is some value on some of the Knicks’ role players, as well as a Jalen Brunson prop to bet.

Let’s examine the odds and picks for three Knicks starters on Thursday:

Knicks vs. Magic best NBA prop bets

  • Mitchell Robinson OVER 15.5 Points and Rebounds
  • Jalen Brunson OVER 23.5 Points
  • Quentin Grimes OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made

Mitchell Robinson OVER 15.5 Points and Rebounds

My favorite prop in this game is for big man Mitchell Robinson, who bounced back from a few down games to put up 10 points and eight rebounds against Miami on Wednesday.

Robinson’s offensive game is very dependent on his rebounding, and while the Magic are a top-10 defensive rebounding team, Robinson did have 14 points and six boards in his lone matchup against them this season.

Since returning from a thumb injury, Mitch has gone over this number in 10 or his 14 games, averaging 8.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. After a few tough scoring games, he’s seen his prop drop back down to 15.5, where it was when he first returned from injury.

I think this is the best number we may get on Mitch this season, so I’ll back him to go OVER after a strong game on Wednesday if he’s able to play.

Jalen Brunson OVER 23.5 Points

Brunson hasn’t missed a beat since returning from a foot injury, scoring 25, 23, and 24 points in his last three games while taking 18 shots per game.

Over his last 19 games, Brunson has cleared this number in 13 of them, averaging 27.4 points per game on 53.6 percent shooting from the field and 42.6 percent shooting from 3.

The volume is going to be there for Brunson, which is the key with any points prop. Orlando, while better at home, is still just 19th in the league in defensive rating.

I think Brunson has a big game on Thursday night with the Knicks needing a win.

Quentin Grimes OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made

Quentin Grimes played one of his best games of the 2022-23 season on Wednesday, drilling six of his 10 shots from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points.

The Knicks need Grimes to continue to knock down shots to take pressure off Brunson and Julius Randle, especially on the second night of a back-to-back where the team may have some tired legs.

Grimes has hit multiple 3s in just four of his last 10 games, but he’s taken five shots from 3 per game over that stretch. As long as the volume is there for Grimes, he’s worth a shot to stay hot on Thursday.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
