As BetSided’s NBA insider and die-hard New York Knicks fan Peter Dewey said to me recently, “It’s a great tradition to be with the ones you love, and watch the Knicks get smoked on Christmas at Madison Square Garden.”
Fortunately for Knicks fans across the country, the tide may be turning on their holiday hoops woes. New York took down the Atlanta Hawks a season ago in the early Christmas matchup; dropping Atlanta 101-87 behind Kemba Walker’s triple-double.
Has it only been a year since that game? Man, that feels like ages ago!
Here are the latest (and best available) odds for today’s matchup:
The Knicks have lost two consecutive matchups following their eight game winning streak, including on a buzzer-beater at home from DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls. Can they get back on track vs. MVP candidate Joel Embiid and the red-hot 76ers; winners of seven straight?
BetSided’s Josh Yourish shared his best bet for today’s game HERE, but if you’re looking for a few 76ers vs. Knicks prop bets to consider, I’ve got you covered with my three favorites, plus a same-game-parlay at FanDuel Sportsbook to throw in the mix as well with our
Best NBA Prop Bets for 76ers vs. Knicks
- Georges Niang OVER 7.5 Points (+104)
- Isaiah Hartenstein OVER 5.5 Rebounds (-135)
- James Harden OVER 3.5 Turnovers (+110)
Georges Niang OVER 7.5 Points
Niang’s offensive production has been one of the many catalysts for the 76ers’ recent win-streak, and with the Knicks needing to pay more attention to Embiid inside, Niang has taken advantage of several open opportunities, and making his three-point shots in the process.
Over the last five games, Niang has averaged just under seven 3-point attempts per game, making at least three of them in his last three, and more than two in his last four. The Knicks allowed a bad Bulls team to shoot 45.2% from downtown on Friday, so they’ll need to shore this up if Niang doesn’t hit.
Isaiah Hartenstein OVER 5.5 Rebounds
Hartenstein has cleared this number in seven of his last eight games, with the only failure being a 5-board game in a 132-94 blowout of the Golden State Warriors.
He’s incredibly active on the boards, and the Knicks’ defense at home should lead to more opportunities on the glass; ranking top 3 in defensive rating at MSG over their last 10 games.
Banging around with Joel Embiid is never fun, but remember Hartenstein’s rotational minutes may often come at times when Embiid is off the court. If that’s the case, we may see him clear this number much earlier in the game.
James Harden OVER 3.5 Turnovers
Harden dished out 21 assists in the 76ers’ seventh straight victory on Friday night; putting up a triple-double in 41 minutes with 20 points and 11 rebounds. It was also his lowest turnover game since November 2, with just 3 TO’s to his name.
The Knicks’ perimeter defense, especially with Quentin Grimes on the floor is exceptional, recording two or more steals in seven of his last 16 games in the starting lineup.
With recent history, especially with no Tyrese Maxey on the court, Harden should cough it up a minimum of four times.
