4: Russell Westbrook

For some reason, many publications see Russell Westbrook to the Knicks as inevitable, despite the fact that it wasn’t a fit last year, and isn’t a fit now. Long-term, this move could be beneficial, as Westbrook’s money is off the books after next season, but it’s just not the right move for this franchise.

Westbrook struggled mightily alongside LeBron James in 2021-22, despite averaging 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1, and while New York could have used him in the past, it’s now 2022, and the Knicks need to look forward.

Pass or pursue: We’ve already seen plenty of trade suggestions that send Westbrook to The Mecca, and even if it allows the Knicks to get out of a bad contract or two, we should all encourage New York to pass here.
