NY Knicks: 3 Eastern Conference Rivals who upgraded at the trade deadline
NY Knicks: The Miami Heat look to get back on track
When the Miami Heat received Victor Oladipo from the Houston Rockets, they made it clear that they were not content with their underwhelming start to the 2020-2021 season after a finals appearance in the previous year. While it’s definitely acceptable to make the claim that the Heat have underperformed, it must be acknowledged that they have been destroyed by injuries throughout the entire season. Jimmy Butler, Goran Dragic, and other important players in the Miami rotation have all missed significant time limiting the quality of performance displayed by the team on a nightly basis.
By adding Victor Oladipo the Heat get themselves another ball-dominant scorer that serves as an excellent complement to Jimmy Butler. In a contract year, the 28-year-old has averaged over 20 points per game in 20 games for the Houston Rockets and will now be playing on his third team of the season. If the Heat can stay healthy and receive consistent production from Oladipo, Butler, and star center Bam Adebayo, I would without a doubt give the Heat a significant chance to reach the finals once again like they did last season.
They have three-point shooting in guys like Dragic and Duncan Robinson and in general this team is talented in all aspects of the game. In regard to the NY Knicks, they lost two of their first three meetings with Miami and will be playing the third on Monday, March 29th at Madison Square Garden. It will be interesting to see how these teams match up with one another especially since their chemistries and playing abilities have all improved a good amount since those first two games.
