The New York Knicks are back for the second half of their pre-Christmas back-to-back, facing the Milwaukee Bucks at home. A look at the odds and injuries for this matchup.
The New York Knicks are already back for another game. It’s their penultimate 48 minutes before a brief holiday break, featuring a return home to face the Milwaukee Bucks. For a matchup fewer than 24 hours after a blowout loss to Miami, it’s arguably the worst-case scenario for interim coach Mike Miller’s team.
It was never a contest between the Knicks and Heat, with the latter leading by over 20 points at the half. A second-half performance from Bobby Portis made the final differential just 15 points, but it wasn’t representative of what happened most of the way.
Following that up with the Bucks doesn’t help. For the Knicks, they at least return home for their attempt at containing Giannis Antetokounmpo, who might be the NBA’s MVP for the second year in a row. Along with a strong supporting cast, this is one of the league’s best teams and an early favorite to make and win the 2020 NBA Finals.
The Knicks can hope this is a letdown game for Milwaukee, coming off their strongest win of the season. They may not have Wayne Ellington again due to an Achilles injury, and Reggie Bullock is on his way back, but the rest of the roster should be good to go as of Saturday morning. Can they make this a competitive game?

The Bucks are extraordinarily high favorites against the Knicks. It’s no surprise, given Milwaukee just defeated the Los Angeles Lakers and the Knicks were crushed by the Heat fewer than 24 hours ago.
