A look at the odds and injuries for the New York Knicks vs Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, Dec. 2.
Stop if you’ve heard this one before: the New York Knicks played competitive basketball for three quarters and failed to close out a winnable game.
Well, on Sunday night, that happened against the Boston Celtics. A little over 24 hours later, another game will be played by coach David Fizdale’s team, on the road, in Milwaukee, versus Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s Bucks. The Fiserv Forum will host this game.
While they held a slim lead for most of the game, the Knicks played well enough to stay ahead of the Celtics. From Julius Randle‘s efficiency, to the effective ball movement, the Knicks’ play differed from their previous 19 outings. Even Kevin Knox had his moments as a last-minute substitution for Marcus Morris in the starting lineup.
However, problematic free-throw shooting, turnovers and a lack of awareness created the Knicks’ demise in the fourth quarter. Boston capitalized with quick baskets, and the game was out of hand within the final few minutes.
On top of that, Frank Ntilikina left the game in the first half due to a back injury. Not returning leaves his status for Monday’s game against the Bucks in question. Elfrid Payton remains on the injury list, too, with a strained hamstring.
As for Morris, his status remains unknown due to the cervical spasm, that sidelined him for Sunday’s matinée. Any game the veteran forward sits leaves the Knicks without his leadership, and Knox is his replacement if necessary.
