New York Knicks Media Day will take place on Monday. However, when can fans tune in to watch the player interviews?
The 2019-20 NBA season is near for the New York Knicks as they look to overcome a 17-65 record, that placed them at the bottom of the NBA standings. The first overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft did not result, either, but the Knicks still selected RJ Barrett with the No. 3 pick in June.
Among the other offseason transactions, the Knicks signed Julius Randle, Marcus Morris and Bobby Portis in free agency, among others. These players are expected to take a main role with the team and potentially contribute to a more competitive squad.
The road to these players taking the court does not start with training camp, but Media Day, which is the first opportunity of the season for the 15-man roster to speak in front of the NBA reporters. There is no basketball action, but plenty of soundbites for the fans to listen to, discovering the players’ mindset entering the next campaign.
Knicks Media Day takes place on Monday, Sept. 30. Per the team’s Twitter account, it starts at 11:00 a.m. ET on Facebook and YouTube, so everyone is able to watch the event live from the practice facility in Tarrytown, NY.
Media Day may last 1-2 hours, depending on how many questions the players receive at the podium. This should include everyone from Barrett to Mitchell Robinson, Kevin Knox, Frank Ntilikina, other returning players and the free-agent signings, including the aforementioned players, Taj Gibson, Wayne Ellington and Elfrid Payton.
There will be plenty of chances to hear from this new-look roster, as the Knicks prepare for the 2019-20 season, which starts with the preseason on Monday, Oct. 7 and opening night happens just over two weeks later on Wednesday, Oct. 23 against the San Antonio Spurs.
