If Frank Mason III were to win National Player of the Year, it would be difficult to dispute how deserving he would be. The 2017 Big 12 Player of the Year has been a force to be reckoned with on the court and an invaluable leader in the locker room for the 29-4 Kansas Jayhawks.

During the Round of 64, Mason led Kansas to yet another dominant victory with a 100-62 demolition of the UC Davis Aggies.

Mason led the charge with 22 points, eight assists, and five rebounds in 31 minutes of action. He shot 8-of-14 from the field, buried three of his seven 3-point field goal attempts, and made three of his four free throws.

Mason is far from secure on draft boards, but there’s no denying how dynamic a talent, nor how respected a leader, he truly is.

Mason is 5’11”, which is the foundation for his status as a projected late second-round draft pick. He’s also a lights-out 3-point shooter and an efficient facilitator who can create in the half court or push the pace and get out in transition.

Efficient, methodical, and clutch, Mason could be an ideal target for the New York Knicks during the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft.
