It’s no secret that the New York Knicks need a point guard in the 2017 NBA Draft. True as that may be, it was difficult to overlook Jonathan Isaac as the most ideal selection for New York during Daily Knicks’ most recent mock draft.

Against an in-state opponent in the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles, Isaac displayed exactly what it is that makes him special: everything.

Isaac torched the 26-8 Eagles for 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three blocks, two steals, a 3-point field goal made, and nine free throw attempts. It was a beautiful display of the remarkable versatility that Isaac possesses.

At 6’11” with a 7’1″ wingspan and a near 9’1″ standing reach, Isaac has an alluring combination of size, length, skill, and athleticism.

Isaac may take time to develop in the NBA, but he has the ceiling of a perennial All-Star. Not only is he capable of doing the basics, but he thinks the game through and has shown an advanced understanding of how to execute on both ends.

Whether it’s splitting screens, pulling out a euro step, or playing the angles, Isaac has the look of a future star. It’s all about development.
