If he develops into a legit player - just insane value for NY
With the new salary cap coming in 2016, Kyle’s deal will be even cheaper. He’s a great teammate, defender and he’s not afraid to the do the dirty work either. He works hard and he knows exactly what his role is.
Many players have built their career on pure hustle and O’Quinn will look to be another guy that does that.
NY has almost always prioritized the scorer over the fit, and the name over the scheme. It's nice to see them trying something different.

That signing makes a lot of sense for NYK. Can play him alongside Lopez, or use him as your 5 man. Also, a pretty good passer for a big.

One of the bigger concerns about Lopez is his defensive rebounding. O'Quinn is really good on the defensive glass and should mitigate that
