The New York Knicks recently worked out four high-profile 2017 NBA Draft prospects. Who are they and why should you care?

The New York Knicks are entering unfamiliar territory in 2017. After years of a blatant disregard for the value of the NBA Draft, the Knicks are changing their tune at the behest of polarizing team president Phil Jackson.

In preparation for the 2017 NBA Draft, Jackson and the Knicks are working out a vast number of players who could potentially help anchor a turnaround.

Despite having missed the playoffs five times since 2009, this will be New York’s second lottery pick during that stretch. After turning the process of trading draft picks away into a habit, the Knicks are committing to building a sustainable future.

New York’s most recent workout included a potential first-round draft pick in Bam Adebayo and a second-round guard prospect in Antonio Blakeney.

The Knicks also worked out Iowa State Cyclones small forward Deonte Burton and Purdue Boilermakers big man Caleb Swanigan.

Those are four high-profile players who should all be on the board when New York has a chance to utilize at least one of its three draft picks.

New York will have the eighth, 44th, and 58th overall selections in the 2017 NBA Draft. If Jackson manages to ace the annual selections, the Knicks could conceivably round out the foundation with the missing pieces.

The question is: who did the New York Knicks bring in for the recent workouts and what might they bring to the table in future seasons?
