Happy Birthday, Kristaps Porzingis! The future face of the franchise turned 21 years of age on Tuesday, August 2.

In the spirit of celebration, it’s only right to take a look back at the moments that made New York Knicks fans celebrate during his rookie season.

Porzingis may have been booed on draft night, but it didn’t take very long for those jeers to turn to cheers. He captivated the masses with his highlight-reel finishes, tantalizing scoring exploits, and dominant defense.

As a result of his success, Porzingis was unanimously selected to the 2016 All-Rookie First Team and finished No. 2 in the Rookie of the Year voting.

Porzingis concluded 2015-16 with season averages of 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 offensive boards, 1.3 assists, 1.9 blocks, and 1.1 3-point field goals made per game. He did so in just 28.4 minutes of court time per contest.

Though some may call it Knicks bias, after the rookie season he had, it’s only right to evaluate the the gifts he’s given fans on his birthday.
