No player was better for the New York Knicks at the 2016 Orlando Summer League than Chasson Randle. As a vast majority of the team struggled, Randle endeared himself to Knicks fans by emerging as one of the few bright spots.

As the front office continues its thorough evaluation of what Randle offers, it stands to reason that signing him for the 2016-17 season has crossed their minds.

Randle finished the Orlando Summer League as New York’s leader in points, assists and steals per game with averages of 18.3 points, 5.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.0 steals. He did so on a highly efficient slash line of .476/.500/.800.

Thus, the interest in Randle being signed to the main roster was born.

A two-time First Team All-Pac-12 honoree, Randle had a productive and heralded career with the Stanford Cardinal. In 2015-16, his first season out of college, he helped CEZ Nymburk win the Czech Republic National Basketball League championship.

In 2016-17, Randle could be a difference-maker for the Knicks. The question is, would he be worth the gamble?
