The New York Knicks aren’t very far from possessing a postseason-caliber roster. True as that may be, the manageable changes and improvements aren’t going to be made without a methodical and concerted effort in free agency.

There’s no position that’s more important for the Knicks to improve at than shooting guard.

If Arron Afflalo declines his player option, then the Knicks will be without a single shooting guard on the roster. If Afflalo does opt in, then the Knicks will still need to shore up at the 2 with an established desire to make him the sixth man.

According to Marc Berman of The New York Post, the Knicks are reportedly interested in signing free agent shooting guard Kent Bazemore.

"The Knicks have heavy interest in 6-foot-5 Hawks shooting guard Kent Bazemore, but they may be priced out or simply shut out, according to NBA sources."

Bazemore is one of the most intriguing free agency targets available.

Bazemore finished the 2015-16 with averages of 11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 3-point field goals made per game. He did so on a slash line of .441/.357/.815, and excelled as both a shooting guard and small forward.

The question is, should the Knicks make a run at signing Bazemore?
