There’s a relatively strong probability that the New York Knicks of 2016-17 will have very little in common with the team of 2015-16. Not only is New York is searching for a new head coach, but it projects to have between $18 and $25 million in cap space.

Few positions are of more overwhelming need than shooting guard.

Having already acknowledged the void at point guard, it’s only logical to move on to the other backcourt position. Arron Afflalo has an $8 million player option for 2016-17, but with or without him, the Knicks will need to make a move.

Not all options are sexy, but every one of them would bring something enticing to the Triangle Offense.

In some instances, the available shooting guards provide an offensive spark that New York lacked in 2015-16. In others, it’s a defensive tenacity that would’ve saved the Knicks from the turnstile defense that plagued their postseason aspirations this past season.

The following 10 shooting guards are the best possible options to complement Carmelo Anthony, Robin Lopez, and Kristaps Porzingis.
