New York Knicks guarantee Quincy Acy's salary

You can add another guaranteed salary to the New York Knicks books this upcoming season.

The Knicks have fully guaranteed Quincy Acy‘s 2014-15 contract on Friday, reports Sam Amick of USA Today.

Acy is scheduled to make $915,243 next season.

The third-year pro out of Baylor was recently acquired by the Knicks, along with Travis Outlaw in exchange for Jeremy Tyler and Wayne Ellington.

Acy gives the Knicks a legitimate power forward, although he can also play the 3. That’s big because the Knicks are pretty thin when it comes to forwards at the moment. However even though Acy can play the position, it is up in the air at the moment on exactly what his role will be during the upcoming season.

While Outlaw, who is scheduled to make $3 million this season, may not see a lot of run in a blue and orange uniform, Acy very well could.

The Knicks could have let him and his salary go by Friday, but Acy has shown steady enough improvement during the past two seasons that he is intriguing enough to offer guaranteed money to.

He has always had an outstanding motor, but he showed during the Vegas Summer League that he has added some offense to his repertoire so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him carve out a role in Derek Fisher‘s rotation.
