While the NBA hasn’t officially released its 2014-15 regular seasons schedule, some things have leaked out here and there, including the New York Knicks matchup against the Washington Wizards on Christmas Day.
The NBA schedule is officially released Wednesday night, but what we likely do know is that in addition to the X-Mas day game, the Knicks schedule will also include a game against the Milwaukee Bucks in London as well as their annual game on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
However their opening night game is going to prove to be a very interesting one, at least for Carmelo Anthony.
According to a source, the Knicks are scheduled to open the 2014-15 season at home against the Bulls.
We can call this the “Melo Bowl” as Anthony came close to jumping ship and joining the Bulls.
Now he won’t have to wait very long to get a first-hand look at Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and the rest of Tom Thibodeau’s team.
Anthony nearly signed with Chicago as he was intrigued by the Bulls’ roster but ultimately decided to sign a five-year, $125 million contract to remain in New York.
Other things that have leaked out so far of note include the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs starting the season by facing LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at home. James and the Cavs will also face the Miami Heat on Christmas Day.
NBA TV will announce the entire 2014-15 regular-season schedule during the network’s one-hour Schedule Release Special on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
