After an impressive stint in the Vegas Summer League, New York Knicks second-year guard Tim Hardaway Jr. has received some more recognition.
Hardaway has been chosen to play on the USA Men’s Select Team that will train with the men’s national team in Las Vegas later this month.
He joins the likes of Brooklyn Nets forward Mason Plumlee, Tobias Harris, Harrison Barnes, Trey Burke, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Doug McDermott, Victor Oladipo, Miles Plumlee, Marcus Smart, Dion Waiters and Cody Zeller.
The select team will train against the national team from July 28-31 at UNLV’s Mendenhall Center.
At this time, the USA National Team members include: Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, James Harden, Kevin Love, Derrick Rose, Paul George, Stephen Curry, Bradley Beal, DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, DeMar DeRozan, Andre Drummond, Kenneth Faried, Gordon Hayward, Kyle Korver, Damian Lillard, Chandler Parsons and Klay Thompson.
Hardaway Jr. is coming off a decent rookie season and the Knicks have big plans for him as he appears to be the only one of the Knicks current crop of shooting guards who is untouchable at the moment.
He averaged 22.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in Summer League action, checking in as the No. 2 scorer in Las Vegas.
