New York Knicks add a pair of assistant coaches

While the New York Knicks are still waiting to see whether or not free agent Carmelo Anthony will be in uniform next season, they do at least know who he will be playing for if he does.

After adding Kurt Rambis to Derek Fisher‘s staff late last week, the Knicks announced that two more coaches would be joining the rookie’s staff.

Those two are Joshua Longstaff and Rasheed Hazzard.

Longstaff was previously a Thunder assistant, while Hazzard formerly worked for the Lakers.

Hazzard has ties to Knicks team president Phil Jackson as he is a former Lakers scout and assistant under the Zen Master,

Longstaff is the only member of the coaching staff that doesn’t have ties to the Jackson and the Lakers.

He comes from the Thunder video department, where he likely worked closely with Fisher when Fisher spent his last couple of years as a player in OKC.

Rambis is the key hire for the Knicks as Fisher will lean heavily on him during the season. It is worth noting that the duo already have been working practices in Vegas.

As for the recent two additions, Fisher’s coaching staff should now be complete and it let’s not only Fisher, but Jackson as well, focus on other things.
