Basketball is having an off-day today. There aren’t any playoff games scheduled until tomorrow night when the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers play in Miami.
As for the New York Knicks, we’re still in a holding pattern, waiting for Phil Jackson and company to make a move on a head coach. Jackson, however, doesn’t seem to be in a rush, and lately, a lot of the news regarding the coaching search seems like hot air. We aren’t going to hear much for a while.
Though news isn’t plentiful right now, here are a few New York Knicks links to digest for a few days.
– In regards to the coaching search, Josh Kroenke of the Denver Nuggets says Brian Shaw isn’t going anywhere. Good. I don’t really want Shaw, and I hope Jackson expands his mind beyond triangle associates.
– Jim Cavan on Kevin Durant’s endorsement of Derek Fisher. I think Fisher will probably turn into a good coach; he’s helped deal and manage some tough personalities throughout his career, and he’s been a reliable player his whole career. Still, it’d be nice to give it just a little time between playing and coaching so we can wash ourselves clean of Derek Fisher for a bit.
– Chris Herring with a surprising stat about Knicks rookies.
– Joe Flynn echoing on that Herring stat. The Knicks have drafted well recently, and they get a lot out of their rookies, but they always seem to drop off. Here’s hoping the new regime is better at developing and maintaining young talent.
That’s all for now, unfortunately. Stay tuned with Buckets Over Broadway for the latest New York Knicks news.
