Entering the 2014-2015 season, Phil Jackson will explore all options to make this New York Knicks team better.

One option may be to deal Tyson Chandler and his large expiring contract.

While this option isn’t a bad idea, it will be extremely difficult to move the aging center. There are five trades that can be labeled as “realistic,” but Jackson would have to really work his magic to get some of these deals done.

Here’s a look at five potential landing spots for Chandler if Jackson decides to move him.

OKC Thunder Get: Tyson Chandler, Iman Shumpert
NY Knicks Get: Reggie Jackson, Kendrick Perkins, 2014 First Round Pick

Why This Trade Makes Sense: The Knicks finally get their young point guard.

Jackson has a chance to be very good in this league and if OKC wants to keep both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, they may run into a James Harden-esque situation with the salary cap.

Kendrick Perkins just isn’t getting the job done against the centers of the west and Chandler is an instant upgrade to defend the likes of Marc Gasol and Dwight Howard.

Shumpert sweetens the pot in this deal as OKC wanted him at this year’s deadline, offering its first round pick this year. I think this is the Knicks best case scenario.
