Last week we documented the fact that New York Knicks president Phil Jackson wants superstar Carmelo Anthony to take a pay cut to return the team.

At the end of the day that is the likely only way we see ‘Melo back in blue and orange.

But do you agree with Jackson’s strategy? Ultimately the end result could drive Anthony away.

Enjoy the following video as Sports Illustrated’s Matt Dollinger takes a look at the Jackson-Anthony situation.

My take on the situation is that if Jackson can get Anthony back at a nice discount we will see Anthony back in New York.

But ultimately I think ‘Melo will be taking a pay cut, but it won’t be with the Knicks.

Other franchise can give him a better opportunity for him to win a championship.

As for the Knicks being willing to offer Anthony an extra year and an extra $30 million, that won’t come into play as the Zen Master has made it pretty clear that he won’t be throwing max money at Anthony and he is content with him walking if things come to that.

Anthony is either going to have to take a big pay cut or look for opportunities elsewhere.

Add all that up and the Knicks are looking like a less attractive option by the day.
