New York Knicks: Metta World Peace predicts Knicks to make NBA Finals

Former New York Knicks forward Metta World Peace has had a lot of free time on his hands as of late since his release from the team shortly after the NBA Trade Deadline.

While MWP is known to say some head scratching things when he has a full plate, it is almost scary to think of what could come out of his mouth when he has nothing to do.

One thing is for sure though and that is that he doesn’t have any hard feelings towards his former team after being bought out.

MWP recently predicted the Knicks to make the finals on a couple occasions this week.

I had to clarify whether or not he was talking about the NBA Finals, the NCAA Tournament or some other fictitious bracket he has going on in his head but indeed MWP predicted the Knicks to make the NBA Finals, where he sees them taking on the Los Angeles Clippers.

Predicting the Clippers to make the finals actually makes sense, one of the few times MWP has said something that has made sense this decade. Los Angeles has looked like a contender all season and is playing very well at the moment.

But the Knicks?

While the Knicks have been laying well over the past couple of weeks, maybe MWP should predict that they make the playoffs first before he goes off and crowns them champions.

Currently the Knicks are three games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with just 12 games left to play in the regular season.

If they do find a way to sneak into the postseason, they are all but assured of likely getting waxed in the first round by the Indiana Pacers or possibly the Miami Heat.

It’s nice to see MWP have so much confidence in his former team but if anyone puts any stock in what comes out of his mouth, you’re crazier than he is.

Hopefully for his sake MWP didn’t put his money where his mouth is.
