New York Knicks: Knicks Sign Shannon Brown for Remainder of Season

The New York Knicks now have one open roster spot. The New York Knicks’ PR Twitter account announced that the Knicks have decided to sign Shannon Brown for the remainder of the season while letting Earl Clark go.

Neither player has been particularly useful in their short stints with the Knicks, but given the vulnerability of the Knicks’ front-court to injury, it’s sort of surprising to see them let go of the 6’9″ Clark in favor of Brown. The Knicks’ back-court has been fairly steady for most of the season, and they have more depth there than upfront. But Brown does have the Phil Jackson connection from their days with the Lakers, so perhaps that played a role.

So, the Knicks roster is now at 14 men. With 14 games to go, it’s unlikely that anyone the Knicks add will have a real impact, but there are some interesting names still available.

– Richard Hamilton
– Ivan Johnson
– DeShawn Stevenson
– Rafer Alston
– Walt Clyde Frazier
– Muggys Bogues
– Raymond McShannahouzenheimer
– Salvador Dipendali
– Gus McForearm

There a lot of good options out there, so we’re just going to have to wait to see what materializes. I think either DeShawn Stevenson or Raymond McShannahouzenheimer would make great signings and possibly be pivotal to the Knicks’ championship run.
