New York Knicks Rumors: Knicks players reportedly tired of Mike Woodson

In a season filled with losing streaks and drama, the New York Knicks can be viewed as the most disappointing team in all of the NBA.

That disappointment has led to constant speculation of pending moves and the future of head coach Mike Woodson, who has been on the hot seat for most of the season.

With rumors swirling that Woodson won’t make it through the trade deadline amidst another losing streak, it appears that some of the Knicks players would welcome the change.

According to ESPN’s Ian Begley, some of the Knicks players have gotten tired of Woodson questioning their effort.

Begley writes:

But recently, some players have grown a bit tired of Woodson pointing out the team’s lack of effort after losses. They expressed their frustration privately in a group setting late last month, league sources told ESPNNewYork.com. And a few players communicated their frustration to Knicks management, league sources say.

To their credit, it doesn’t appear that the team has quit on Woodson on the court, but you can tell the frustration is getting to Woodson as well.

The always positive Woodson has tried to put a positive spin on things all year even when his team has been brutally bad, but yesterday he finally cracked and admitted the season has been a disaster for him.

Our Dr. Eric Kaplan looked earlier today about the current rumors involving Woodson’s possible dismissal and the speculation of Herb Williams being elevated to interim head coach.

If the Knicks haven’t quit on Woodson yet, the writing is on the wall for that happening very soon.

The reality of this situation is that Woodson lost his team a long time ago and once that happens there is no getting it back.

Who knows what James Dolan and Steve Mills will do regarding Woodson’s status, but one thing is for sure and that is the fact that things are likely to get much worse before they get any better.
