NBA Trade Rumors: Carmelo Anthony to Bulls rumors heating up

As the NBA Trade Deadline approaches, New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony will hear his future questioned from people like myself to pretty much any other person that types his name out for the next three weeks.

While it is highly doubtful that the Knicks decide to move Melo, there still is a better than average chance that he leaves after the season in search of greener pastures.

I have reported on a few different occasions about the Chicago Bulls being serious players for Melo in the offseason and now it looks like they could be the leading candidate.

Most of the executives to whom ESPN Insider’s Chris Broussard has spoken believe the Bulls will make a run at Carmelo Anthony this summer.

Some are “completely convinced” Chicago will go after him, Broussard writes. A rival GM thinks the team’s confidence in Nikola Mirotic‘s ability will play heavily into the team’s decision regarding Anthony.

report in recent days indicated the Bulls are among the front runners for last year’s scoring champ.

The rest of the season will likely determine Anthony’s fate in New York, as another early playoff exit, or even worse, missing the postseason altogether will be disastrous for the Knicks’ chances to re-sign last year’s scoring champion.

However not everyone is convinced of Anthony’s interest in the Bulls as an agent with ties to the Knicks tells Bleacher Report’s Jared Zwerling that he thinks Anthony is “too Hollywood” to choose the Bulls in free agency and prefers New York or Los Angeles instead.

Even though the Knicks are in the middle of a four-game win streak and creeping back into things in the Eastern Conference playoff race, Anthony’s future plans will still dominate the headlines.
