Things haven’t exactly gone the New York Knicks’ way this season, but that hasn’t stopped Tyson Chandler and Carmelo Anthony from getting some individual recognition.

Chandler and Anthony were named among the 28 NBA players who will vie for spots on the American side in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain this summer.

The complete list of players is as follows: LaMarcus Aldridge, Anthony, Bradley Beal, Chandler, DeMarcus Cousins, Steph Curry, Anthony DavisAndre Drummond, Kevin Durant, Kenneth Faried, Paul George, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Gordon HaywardDwight Howard, Andre Iguodala, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Kyle Korver, David Lee, Kawhi LeonardDamian Lillard, Kevin Love, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Klay Thompson, Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams.

It’s worth noting that players such as Paul and Anthony are not expected to compete in August’s World Cup.

The roster will be selected by coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Newcomers to international competition include: George, Griffin, Aldridge, Irving, Lillard, Cousins, Drummond, Beal, Hayward, Thompson, Korver, Faried, Leonard and Lee.

Perhaps the biggest snub to the list is Washington Wizards’ point guard John Wall.

While it is nice that both Chandler and Anthony were recognized, it is almost a given that we won’t see either Knicks’ player on the final roster that heads to Spain in August.
